Description Ford Fiesta ST

Ford Fiesta ST is the sportiest version of the Fiesta compact hatchback. The seventh generation of "Fiesta" received such a modification in 2017, and the serial production of the car started in 2018.

Although the new Ford Fiesta ST represents the third iteration of the Fiesta ST line, it is the first three-cylinder Ford Performance car to feature a single-cylinder shut-off system at light loads. The 1.5L EcoBoost turbo engine develops 200 hp. (at 6000 rpm) and a maximum torque of 290 Nm (available from 1600 to 4000 rpm). The hatch accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 232 km/h.

For the first time in the history of the model, the "hot" version of the Fiesta received a driving mode selection system called Drive Mode. It determines the response time to pressing the gas pedal, the "sharpness" of the steering wheel, the settings of the stability control system, as well as the sound of the exhaust system. Normal, Sport and Track modes are available. An optional launch control system is installed.

The new generation Fiesta ST is offered for the first time with a Quaife limited slip differential (optional), which helps optimize front wheel grip for better cornering. In particular, it provides improved traction out of corners. The mechanical system limits the transfer of torque from the engine to the wheel with reduced grip (for example, the wheel is on the inside of the turn) to reduce slip, and most of the engine torque is transferred to the wheel with better grip, which allows you to fully use the dynamic potential of the power unit.

Front on the Ford Fiesta ST ventilated brake discs with a diameter of 278 mm, rear - solid discs with a diameter of 253 mm.

A new optional limited-slip differential is paired with Torque Vectoring Control, which improves cornering stability and compensates for understeer by braking the front wheel on the inside of the turn radius. The combination of these two systems provides optimal grip on dry surfaces and a smooth ride on wet surfaces.

Another feature of the “hot” Fiesta is a sports suspension with original springs with variable coil pitch and diameter, as well as Tenneco shock absorbers (double-tube front and single-tube rear). It is noteworthy that the rear semi-independent suspension with a torsional stiffness of 1400 N•m/degree is the most rigid of all models in the Ford Performance line.
